The 36th SuSanA Meeting is set to take place on 22 August 2026 in Stockholm, bringing together global actors in the sanitation and WASH sector for a full day of knowledge exchange, collaboration, and forward-looking dialogue.
Organized by the Sustainable Sanitation Alliance, the meeting will run from 09:00 to 16:00 (CEST) and promises a dynamic program featuring diverse and insightful presentations on sustainable sanitation. The event offers a valuable platform for practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and advocates to connect, share experiences, and explore innovative solutions shaping the future of sanitation.
A key focus of this year’s meeting will be advancing progress toward Sustainable Development Goals Target 6.2 ensuring access to adequate and equitable sanitation for all while reflecting on strategies beyond 2030. Discussions will also delve into the intersection of climate change and WASH, highlighting both the impacts on sanitation systems and the sector’s role in climate mitigation and adaptation.
Additional thematic areas include strengthening capacity through tools and innovation, enhancing financial sustainability of sanitation systems, and fostering meaningful engagement with the private sector. Participants are encouraged to actively contribute by submitting presentation proposals on these and other relevant topics by 15 May 2026.
